How to Play Dragonwilds Crossplay

Host or join a Dragonwilds 1.0 crossplay world with friends using the world browser, invite codes, or a crossplay-enabled dedicated server.

Last updated: 2026-09-15

Dragonwilds 1.0 supports crossplay across its live platforms. Hosts choose whether each multiplayer world enables crossplay, and dedicated servers have the same option.

Host a crossplay world

  1. Load the world you want to host from the in-game menu.
  2. Enable the crossplay option for that hosting session.
  3. Open the pause menu after the world loads.
  4. Share the displayed invite code with your friends.

The host controls the world save. Back it up before major updates and keep every client and dedicated server on the same game version.

Join with an invite code

  1. Open the world browser.
  2. Choose the invite-code entry option.
  3. Enter the code exactly as the host provides it.
  4. Confirm that you are joining the intended world before continuing.

Crossplay-enabled public worlds also appear in the world browser. An invite code helps locate a specific hosted world; it does not transfer ownership of its save.

Dedicated-server crossplay

Enable crossplay in the dedicated server's supported configuration, then restart the server so the change takes effect. Never edit dedicatedserver.ini while the server is running because the process can overwrite changes on shutdown. Use the Dedicated Server guide for installation, ports, backups, and logs.

Platforms and saves

Version 1.0 is live on Steam, Epic Games Store, Jagex Launcher, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Crossplay lets players meet in the same enabled world; it does not mean purchases or save files automatically transfer between storefronts.
