Dragonwilds Scorned Wilderness Guide
Prepare for the Scorned Wilderness region in Dragonwilds 1.0, including its raid structure, Black Dragons, Runite, new gear, and Kuldra progression.
Last updated: 2026-09-04
Scorned Wilderness launches with Dragonwilds 1.0 on September 15, 2026 and is not live in version 0.12.1. Unlike earlier open-region expansions, Jagex describes it as a high-end raid-like gauntlet built around hostile terrain, combat pressure, and the approach to Kuldra.
Confirmed region features
- floating islands and highly vertical, Anima-warped terrain;
- Kuldra attacking players during the approach;
- elite “brutal” dragons of multiple types;
- lesser black dragons;
- Runite and Rune-tier crafting progression;
- Black Dragonhide and Ancestral robes;
- story quests culminating in the Dragon Queen encounter;
- solo or group completion.
Exact entrances, checkpoints, resource coordinates, weather effects, and failure rules have not been published. Treat launch-day exploration as the authority.
How Scorned Wilderness differs from earlier regions
Brynmoor through Umbral Sands are broad regions where players can explore, gather, and establish routes at their own pace. Scorned Wilderness is described as a sustained high-end challenge: players fight for ground while surviving the environment and Kuldra's pressure.
That makes recovery planning as important as damage. Bring a complete Umbral-tier set, a second combat range, strong healing food, runes or ammunition, and free inventory space for new materials.
Progression before entering
Complete the main path through Velgar, Imaru, the Black Knight Titan, Fuzan, and the important Umbral Sands follow-up content. Farm the Nightmare Crucible only as far as it meaningfully improves a weapon you already use.
Prepare material flexibility rather than speculative recipes. Existing high-tier food, repair supplies, logs, bars, textiles, and runes are useful even if the exact Rune-tier costs change at launch.
Scorned Wilderness rewards
The region supports the next core equipment tier: Rune armour, Black Dragonhide, and Ancestral robes. Kuldra's reward pool is separate and includes an updated Dragon Shield, a cape, Dragon equipment, and unrevealed rare drops.
Use the Runite locations guide for verified gathering information as it becomes available and the launch armour guide to keep the three combat styles separate.
What remains unknown
Before September 15, no trustworthy page can provide a complete map, exact resource route, full quest order, or Kuldra phase solution. Jagex intentionally withheld raid spoilers. This guide will be updated from the released game instead of presenting predictions as walkthrough steps.
