Dragonwilds Food, Health & Survival Guide
Manage health, sustenance, hydration, fatigue, food buffs, and region hazards after the 0.12 health rework.
Last updated: 2026-07-27
Version 0.12 changed survival significantly. Wardstones and Wardshield were removed, damage now goes directly to health, Constitution shrines increase maximum health, and food restores health immediately while retaining other perks.
Expedition priorities
- Health: carry food you can eat quickly during combat.
- Sustenance: leave with a proper meal rather than relying on whatever you forage.
- Hydration: carry enough water for travel and environmental drain.
- Fatigue: rest at a bed and use shelter before long gathering or boss routes.
- Resistance: match food, infusions, armour, and supplies to poison, bleed, cold, Sunscorch, or other regional pressure.
Cooking progression
Early campfire food solves immediate hunger. Cooking stations and multi-ingredient recipes later provide stronger recovery and useful buffs. Fishing adds a renewable food route, while Farming makes herbs and crops more dependable.
Keep a labelled expedition chest containing cooked food, water, runes, repairs, and region-specific supplies. Restock it immediately after returning rather than discovering it empty before the next boss.
