Dragonwilds Resource Locations & Material Guide
Find Dragonwilds ores, logs, hides, cloth, runes, crops, and endgame materials by region, with efficient gathering and crafting routes.
Last updated: 2026-08-22
Dragonwilds resources follow regional progression. New land brings stronger ore, trees, hides, textiles, crops, and activity rewards, while the previous region supplies the stations and equipment needed to process them. The fastest route is therefore not one enormous farming circuit: it is a chain of short loops built around the next item you intend to craft.
Use the interactive Resource Finder for a quick material lookup. This guide explains where each tier fits and how to build a repeatable route.
Resource progression by region
| Region | Priority materials | Main progression use |
|---|---|---|
| Brynmoor | Ash logs, stone, clay, flax, leather, rune essence | Shelter, early stations, thread, runes |
| Ghornfell | Copper, tin, bronze inputs, oak, iron progression | Metal tools, early weapons and armour |
| Fellhollow | Steel inputs, willow, Green Dragonhide, Splitbark materials, crops | Power Level 5 equipment, Farming, castle building |
| Dowdun Reach | Mithril, Blue Dragonhide, Mystic materials, mountain resources | Power Level 6 equipment and vault progression |
| Umbral Sands | Adamant, Yew, Red Dragonhide, Infinity Cloth, Ascension materials | Current pre-1.0 equipment and endgame upgrades |
Gather enough to finish one functional upgrade before filling every storage box. The next pickaxe, logging axe, weapon, or armour set usually saves more time than an unused stockpile.
Brynmoor resource locations
The opening valleys provide the basic materials used everywhere else.
Ash logs and plant fibre
Ash trees are common across the starter landscape. Build the first wood route between the base, water, and a dense stand rather than chopping isolated trees during every quest. Plant fibre and flax support thread, early armour, and workstation recipes; collect them whenever they overlap the same path.
Stone and clay
Stone appears throughout rocky terrain and remains important for construction even after metal tools improve. Clay is best gathered as a planned batch for recipes and building rather than carried during a combat expedition.
Rune essence
Rune essence sustains both combat and skilling spells. Mark Rune Vents when discovered and craft a reserve before leaving for a new region. Running out of one rune type can disable gathering spells, travel tools, and combat at the same time.
Ghornfell resource locations
Ghornfell advances the metal ladder and introduces more demanding terrain.
Copper, tin, and bronze
Mine copper and tin as a paired project because bronze production needs both. Upgrade the pickaxe as soon as the new recipe and supply chain permit it. Keep ore storage beside smelting to avoid carrying heavy materials through the whole base.
Iron and coal
Iron progression prepares the character for regional combat and the step toward Steel. Search cliffs, mines, and rocky landmark routes rather than open woodland. Combine ore runs with vault and quest objectives so travel produces more than one material.
Oak
Oak supports the next stage of construction and ranged crafting. Use the best available axe and process logs near storage. If the route crosses several viable trees, skilling spells become more efficient than using them on one isolated target.
Fellhollow resource locations
Fellhollow adds Wither pressure, Farming, and Power Level 5 equipment.
Steel progression
Steel uses the established ore-processing chain rather than a single magical “Steel node.” Plan mining, fuel or coal, smelting, and bench time as one workflow. Upgrade the gathering tools that feed the chain before crafting several competing weapon experiments.
Willow and building resources
Willow supports regional ranged and construction progression. A sheltered outpost near a repeatable tree route reduces Wither exposure and lets the player return with a full inventory instead of abandoning materials to survive.
Green Dragonhide and Splitbark materials
Green Dragonhide comes through Lesser Green Dragon progression and must be processed before becoming ranged armour. Splitbark supports Magic equipment. Both are combat-linked resources, so bring food and a backup style rather than treating them like ordinary gathering nodes.
Seeds and crops
Fellhollow introduced Farming and crops including pumpkin, watermelon, wheat, and tomatoes. Match seeds and plots using the live tooltip, maintain water and disease control, and grow ingredients that also advance Cooking. The Farming guide covers the complete loop.
Dowdun Reach resource locations
Dowdun Reach is the bridge between Steel gear and the current desert tier.
Mithril
Mithril is the core regional metal target. Search mines, Black Knight-controlled routes, vault approaches, and exposed mountain rock. Establish a nearby return point because ore weight and hostile terrain make overextended runs inefficient.
Blue Dragonhide
Blue Dragonhide comes from Blue Dragon progression and supports the ranged tier between Green and Red Dragonhide. Treat the hide, tannery processing, thread, and armour bench as one project.
Mystic materials
Magic progression uses specialist textiles and magical components rather than copying the metal ladder exactly. Keep drops from vaults, casters, and regional activities until their Journal uses are understood. Seemingly niche cloth or thread may be the missing part of a complete robe set.
Umbral Sands resource locations
The desert contains the highest live pre-1.0 craftable tier. Water, shade, quicksand, and route length are part of the gathering calculation.
Adamant Ore
Adamant deposits support tools, melee weapons, armour, shield, and ammunition. Search high-tier desert mining areas, caves, vault routes, and rocky landmarks. Make the Adamant pickaxe or other gathering upgrade early if its recipe materially shortens the rest of the ore farm.
Yew logs
Jagex states that Yew trees grow across Umbral Sands. Their logs support shortbows, longbows, a crossbow stock, and the Yew fishing rod. Plan a shaded logging loop and bring enough carrying capacity to make the desert crossing worthwhile.
Red Dragonhide
Red Dragonhide is tied to Red Dragon progression and produces the current high-tier craftable ranged set after processing. Learn the encounter reliably before calling it a farm. A safe kill and clean return produce more material per hour than a fragile high-damage attempt.
Infinity Cloth
Infinity Cloth supports Infinity robes. It belongs to the advanced textile workflow: retain specialist fibre, cloth, thread, and magical components until the live recipe is checked at the appropriate station. Do not discard a lower-stage textile merely because its name is not “Infinity.”
Ascension materials
Ascension Cores support eligible Masterwork and Vestige weapon upgrades. Lower supported tiers use the recipes displayed at the Mystic Forge, while Power Level 7 Cores come directly from the Nightmare Crucible. See the Ascension Core guide before investing rare materials.
Runite and version 1.0
Runite is confirmed for Scorned Wilderness but is not live in version 0.12.1. Exact node positions and requirements remain unverified until September 15. Use the Runite locations guide for the confirmed preparation plan and later live route.
Efficient gathering route template
- Choose one finished item or station upgrade.
- Pin every missing ingredient in the Journal.
- Select the densest regional route that supplies at least two ingredients.
- Repair the best gathering tool available.
- Empty unnecessary inventory weight.
- Unlock the nearest Lodestone or establish a safe outpost.
- Gather until the recipe plus repair reserve is covered.
- Process and store materials immediately on return.
This prevents “resource tourism,” where the player gathers a little of everything but completes nothing.
Resource problems and fixes
A node looks depleted
Move to another marked cluster or change activities while the route recovers. Avoid designing a loop around one node.
The right material will not unlock a recipe
Check the required skill, station, station upgrade, learned Vestige, and whether the ingredient must first be processed.
Inventory fills before the route ends
Leave decorations, spare weapons, and unrelated consumables at the outpost. Upgrade carrying capacity through Agility milestones and shorten the circuit.
A guide disagrees with the Journal
Use the live Journal and crafting preview. Updates can move recipes, change stations, or rebalance ingredients.
Continue with crafting progression, best weapons, best armour, and best base locations once the material route is established.
